- Uploading and keeping are two different clocks
Some of your guests only empty their phone two days later, sometimes the weekend after: an album that closes 24 hours after the party will never see them. Retention is a second line altogether, to be read on its own: 7 days on the free tier.
- Does the guest book run on the same clock?
At Kululu the guests' words live inside the album itself, so they fall under the same window as the photos, which is worth confirming with them. Our guest book stays open for as long as the album does: the guest who could not find their words on the night writes them on the Monday.
- Quality that depends on the tier
Their pricing page sets a “good quality” on the free plan against a “High-Quality” on the paid ones, without saying more about either. It is worth asking what that covers, because it is the file you will still have in ten years' time. At Medley there is nothing to ask: original quality on the way in and on the way out, for everyone.
- Where does your guests' data live?
Event photos are personal data. Medley hosts them in the European Union (in France, with OVH), under the GDPR, and proves it: a criterion worth checking anywhere it is not written down.

What Kululu does well
Let us be fair: Kululu is a rich product. Uploading with no app through a QR code, a live photo wall, an album you can dress up. Its free tier lets you try the thing in real conditions, and its top plan keeps the files for a year. If your evening fits inside the window it opens, it is a perfectly valid option. Our difference comes down to three stances: no countdown on uploading, original quality everywhere, and European hosting we can prove.
